Under Tennessee Department of Health Rule 1200-23-05, a single rental cabin whose pool serves only the household staying there and their private guests generally fits the residential-pool definition and sits outside the state public-pool program. A shared amenity pool serving multiple units or registered guests, such as a multi-cabin resort, condo, apartment, or hotel, is a Type B public pool that carries health-department oversight: inspections, public-pool barrier and signage standards, and water-quality recordkeeping. Interpretation and enforcement are county-level, so confirm the specifics with the county health department before you commit, and we help owners navigate it.

Can you build an indoor pool so the cabin rents in winter?+

Yes. An enclosed pool room lets a cabin market a pool through the off-season, which is when a lot of Smokies inventory goes quiet. We build the structure, the pool, and the climate and ventilation details as one coordinated project.
