Quick Answer

A louvered pergola, also called an aluminum patio cover or louvered roof, is an adjustable aluminum roof that opens for sun and closes to a watertight seal against rain, controlled by app or handheld remote. Morales Outdoor Living is an authorized Outdoor Elements dealer and installer across Knoxville and East Tennessee, building adjustable louvered, solid insulated, lattice, and pitched aluminum systems, plus motorized screens, glass walls, heaters, fans, and integrated lighting.

  • Four roof styles: adjustable louvered, solid insulated, fixed lattice, and pitched
  • Six Outdoor Elements families: Solace, Signature, Serenity, Skyview, Skypeak, Swiftline
  • Solace is rated to 70 lb snow load and 160 MPH winds
  • Louvers, lighting, and screens all run from one smart-device app or a remote
  • Aluminum never rots, warps, rusts, or needs repainting
  • Every structure is engineered, permitted, and quoted per project

Pick the Roof, Then the Model.

Model names come last. The real question is how much control you want over sun and rain.

Adjustable Louvered

Aluminum blades rotate open for sun, tilt for filtered light, and close to a watertight seal against rain. The most flexible roof you can put over a patio.

Solace, Signature, Swiftline

Solid Insulated

Fixed insulated panels for full shade and full rain protection, with no motor and nothing to maintain. Noticeably cooler underneath on a hot afternoon.

Serenity

Fixed Lattice & Pitched

Open aluminum framing for filtered light and a classic pergola look, or a pitched peaked roof when you want the structure to read architectural.

Six Systems We Install.

one of them fits your yard.

Outdoor Elements Solace aluminum pergola systemFlagship

Solace

The flagship. The biggest, toughest louvered roof they build.

Solace uses a patent-pending dual-wall louver: two walls with an air gap between them, which is what lets it span farther and hold up to serious weather. That gap also works as a thermal barrier in July and an insulator in January, so the space underneath stays comfortable at both ends of the year.

  • Dual-wall louvers up to 15 ft 6 in wide
  • Up to 346 sq ft in a single zone
  • 10 in louvers in 8, 10, 12, and 15 ft 6 in lengths
  • Rated to 70 lb snow load and 160 MPH winds
  • App and handheld remote control

Best for
Large patios, pool decks, and outdoor kitchens where you want one big uninterrupted cover.

Outdoor Elements Signature aluminum pergola systemMost Popular

Signature

The classic louvered roof, and the one most homes end up with.

Signature is the core 8-inch louvered system: open the blades for sun, close them against rain and wind, all from your phone. Single covers run up to 12 by 22 ft, and multiple units link together when a space needs more coverage or an unusual shape.

  • 8 in adjustable louvers
  • Single covers up to 12 ft by 22 ft 2 in (264 sq ft)
  • Link multiple units for larger or custom spaces
  • Patented integrated LED lighting, including RGB
  • Corbels, post wraps, and cantilever upgrades

Best for
The everyday choice for a covered patio, deck, dining area, or poolside lounge.

Outdoor Elements Serenity aluminum pergola system

Serenity

Solid insulated roof. No motor, nothing to maintain, always covered.

Serenity trades adjustability for simplicity: 3-inch insulated panels fixed in place, with a built-in gutter and a closed-cell core that keeps water out and heat down. If you want permanent shade and would rather not own a motorized roof, this is the one.

  • 3 in insulated roof panels
  • Closed-cell panel core with built-in gutter
  • Powder-coated extruded aluminum frame
  • No motor and no automated adjustment
  • Solid white or golden oak woodgrain panels

Best for
Attached covers over kitchens and living areas, or fixed shade beside an adjustable system.

Outdoor Elements Skyview aluminum pergola system

Skyview

Aluminum lattice. The open pergola look without the wood upkeep.

Skyview is a fixed lattice: beams or a 3x3 lattice grid overhead that cut a lot of the heat while still letting light through. It gives you the traditional open pergola feel with the durability and finish quality of the rest of the aluminum line.

  • Fixed roof, no motor or moving parts
  • Beam sizes or 3x3 fixed lattice options
  • Filters light while reducing heat
  • Optional LED, screens, heaters, and fans
  • Classic and designer color range

Best for
Defining a lounge or poolside area where you want open sky and dappled shade.

Outdoor Elements Skypeak aluminum pergola system

Skypeak

A true pitched roof, engineered as one piece.

Skypeak is the peaked-roof design, built as a single engineered system rather than two roof sections joined in the middle. It reads far more like traditional architecture than a flat cover, which makes it the pick when the structure needs to look like it belongs to the house.

  • 4x12 roof pitch
  • High-grade extruded aluminum framework
  • Freestanding or attached to the home
  • Engineered for multiple climate regions
  • Integrated, RGB, post, and recessed LED options

Best for
A backyard focal point, pavilion-style cover, or anywhere a flat roof would look wrong.

Outdoor Elements Swiftline aluminum pergola system

Swiftline

Pre-built and quick to install, for smaller spaces.

Swiftline is the compact, ready-to-ship louvered pergola. Because it is pre-constructed rather than made to order, it arrives and goes up far faster than a fully custom build, with the louvers still rotating a full 180 degrees and a gutter and drain system built in.

  • Pre-built and ships in days, not weeks
  • Louvers rotate a full 180 degrees
  • Integrated gutter and drain system
  • 8 standard powder-coat colors
  • Optional LED, screens, heating, and app control

Best for
Hot tubs, grill stations, and smaller patio zones where speed matters.

Screens come in their own range of designer colors, and the Serenity solid roof panels are offered in white or a golden oak woodgrain. Swatches on a screen never match a real sample exactly, so we bring physical chips to the consult and confirm the current palette before anything is ordered.

Shade On Demand

Rotate the louvers open for full sun, tilt them for filtered light, or close them tight when a storm rolls through. Crack them slightly and the roof vents trapped heat and pulls a breeze, which a fixed cover simply cannot do.

Built to Last Decades

High-grade extruded aluminum, stainless steel fasteners, and a powder-coat finish cured for durability and fade resistance. No rot, no rust, no splinters, no repainting, and no annual sealing the way wood demands.

Engineered and Permitted

These are engineered systems, not kits. We handle the permitting and HOA package, confirm the footings and attachment your specific site needs, and put the warranty terms for your exact configuration in writing with the proposal.

What It Costs

Honest Price Ranges

Most contractors dodge this question. We will not. These are real East Tennessee ranges to help you set a budget, not a quote. Every project is unique, so your exact number comes from the on-site design consultation. Getting to that point costs you nothing: the estimator and the phone consultation are free.

Solid aluminum cover

$12K to $24K

Insulated solid roof, no louvers

Louvered roof

$32K to $55K

Motorized adjustable louvers

Premium louvered system

$55K to $95K+

Large span + motorized screens

A + means and up: larger or feature-rich builds have no set ceiling.

We give discounts when projects combine multiple features, and site conditions like rock, slope, and access can move the number. We spell it all out clearly up front.

Don't Let Budget Hold the Yard Back.

Spread your project into easy monthly payments through VistaFi. Fast online approval, options for every budget, and no home equity required, so you can build now and pay over time.

Financing is provided through VistaFi Solutions' partner lenders, subject to credit approval. VistaFi Solutions is not a lender, and neither is Morales Outdoor Living. Rates and terms are set by the lender and vary by applicant.

Next Step

Cover Your Patio.

and actually use it.

We will walk your space, tell you honestly which system fits, and quote it per project so you get a real number instead of a range. Wood is an option too, and we will say so if it is the better call for your home.

Questions

Straight Answers.

What is the difference between louvered, solid, and lattice aluminum roofs?

A louvered roof has adjustable blades: open them for sun, tilt them for filtered light, close them for a watertight seal against rain. A solid insulated roof is fixed panels for permanent full coverage, and it runs noticeably cooler underneath. A lattice is open framing that filters light without keeping rain out. Outdoor Elements builds all three and we install all three, so we match the roof type to how you actually want to use the space rather than to whatever we happen to sell.

Do the louvers really keep the rain out?

Yes. Closed, the louvers seal to a watertight barrier and integrated gutters with concealed downspouts carry the water away. The systems are engineered for heavy rain, and the Solace line specifically is rated to 70 lb of snow load and 160 MPH winds. On motorized systems a rain sensor can close the roof on its own if weather rolls in while you are out.

How do I control it?

From a smart-device app or a proprietary handheld remote. The same control runs the integrated LED lighting, and motorized screens can be added to the same system. If you want the roof, the lights, and the screens all on one app, tell us at design and we will spec it that way from the start.

What colors are available?

The louvered lines offer a wide classic and designer powder-coat range, and the frame and the louvers can be finished independently so you can keep it all one tone or use the louvers as an accent. Swiftline comes in 8 standard colors: taupe, bronze, black, tan, oyster white, white, platinum grey, and basalt grey. Palettes change, so we confirm the current options with you at the consult.

How much maintenance does aluminum need?

Almost none, and that is the main reason people choose it over wood. High-grade extruded aluminum with stainless steel fasteners does not rot, warp, rust, splinter, or need repainting, and the powder-coat finish resists fading. There is no annual sealing or staining. An occasional rinse to clear pollen and dust is genuinely the whole maintenance routine.

What warranty comes with an Outdoor Elements system?

These systems carry a manufacturer warranty, and coverage differs by system and by component, with structure, finish, electronics, and batteries each treated differently. Rather than publish a single blanket number, we confirm the exact current terms for your specific model and options in writing with your proposal. We stand behind our installation work separately from whatever the manufacturer covers.

Can I add screens, heaters, and fans later?

Some of it, but planning them in at design is cheaper and cleaner. The structure, the power runs, and the mounting supports all have to be built to carry that equipment, so adding a heater or a motorized screen to a system that was not specced for it can mean opening up finished work. Tell us what you might eventually want and we will build in the capacity even if you buy the equipment later.

Is a louvered pergola the same thing as an aluminum patio cover?

In practice, yes. Louvered pergola, louvered roof, adjustable patio cover, smart pergola: people search for all of them and generally mean the same adjustable aluminum roof. Outdoor Elements builds several distinct lines under that umbrella, from the Solace dual-wall flagship down to the compact Swiftline, plus solid insulated, lattice, and pitched-roof designs. We help you pick the line that fits the space and the budget.
